Who are we?
The Central Catholic Library Association is a company limited by guarantee (company number 7451) with its registered office at 74 Merrion Square Dublin 2. It is a registered charity (registered charity number CHY 2921). It is a subscription library, with both a research collection and a loan collection.
The Central Catholic Library Association is managed by a board of elected or co-opted voluntary directors.
We are publishing this Privacy Statement as evidence of our commitment to protecting your personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.
What information is collected?
The Central Catholic Library Association collects personal information on its members including name, address, phone number (optional) and email address.
How is the information collected?
The personal information on members is gathered through the use of a membership form, in paper format.
Why is the information collected?
The personal information is collected in order to process and maintain library membership records and to communicate with members. It is also used to process book borrowing from the loan collection.
How will it be used?
The personal information will be used to notify members of company business, including the Annual General Meeting. It will also be used to notify members when their annual subscription is due for renewal, and when books they have borrowed are overdue for return. Lastly, personal information is used to notify members of library lectures and other events.
Who will it be shared with?
The personal information of Central Catholic Library members is only made available to the librarian and sitting board of directors. It is not shared with any other person or organisation.
What do you have to do?
In order to remain compliant with GDPR we need you to consent to the retention of your personal information. You will be asked to indicate your consent when you become a member or renew your subscription. If you do not indicate your consent, your details will be deleted from our records. At the moment, membership is open-ended, once the subscription has been paid. This matter will be reviewed later in 2019, in the context of the retention of membership data.
